March 25

We are very thankful and appreciative of County Executive Marc Elrich and the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services for their tireless and continuing efforts to assist the residents who were displaced by the fire earlier this month at Friendly Gardens Apartments.

As we have reported previously, residents in the three Friendly Gardens properties that were not impacted by the fire have been able to move back into their apartments. We are awaiting updates from inspectors and engineering experts as to the status of the affected buildings and when residents may be able to return.

In addition to the efforts from the County and the Montgomery Housing Partnership, we are pleased to report we have also sent payments to the residents who are permanently displaced.

We will continue to work with the County and our partners to assist our residents during this very difficult time.
